Adrenal Cocktail Recipe
Did you know that one simple drink can help mitigate cellular stress, improve adrenal and thyroid function, deepen your sleep, and improve your mood?
3 Main Components to the Adrenal Cocktail:
Whole food Vitamin C
Can be orange juice, watermelon juice, lime juice, etc.
Contains bioavailable copper, and an important enzyme called tyrosinase that stimulates the liver. Vit C plays a key role in activating enzyme for collagen production, enhancing, skin, tissue health, and blood vessels.
Powerful antioxidant that protects body from free radicals
Essential for the body’s ability to adapt to stress, and is often depleted under chronic stress
Sodium (Salt)
In times of stress, sodium is rapidly used up by the cell and can cause the same cells to dump their potassium reserves. This delicate balance of sodium and potassium directly correlated to the symptoms that people experience with adrenal fatigue. Sodium supports the electrolyte balance and also is essential for absorbing Magneisum, Less sodium in the system means more stress on the system, which can cause adrenaline to steadily rise.
Potassium
Out of all the electrolytes, Potassium has the highest concentration within your cells. When too much salt or fluid is pulled from the interstitial fluid (the fluid between your cells) a small amount of sodium migrates out of the cell. As sodium migrates, water follows the sodium, and also leaves the cell. This leaves the cell dehydrated and sodium deficient. In order to keep the cell within the delicate levels of sodium and potassium, potassium also migrates, to keep the cell at homeostasis. This creates even more of a deficiency, and decreased adrenal function, and can cause adrenaline to rise.
